Thanksgiving Songs

I am Thankful
I am thankful, I am thankful
Yes I am, yes I am
I am thankful for my family
I am thankful for my friends
Yes I am, yes I am

Music The Turkey (poem)
The turkey is a funny bird
His head goes wobble, wobble
The only word that he can say
Is gobble, gobble, gobble.

Thanksgiving Dinner
We eat tur-key, we eat tur-key
Oh, so good. Oh, so good.
Al-ways on Thanks-giv-ing
Al-ways on Thanks-giv-ing
Yum-Yum-Yum! Yum-Yum-Yum!

Did You Ever See a Turkey (sing to: Did You Ever See a Lassie?)
Did you ever seen a turkey, a turkey, a turkey
As he struts around the farmyard with feather so bright?
With red ones and brown ones and yellow ones and orange ones,
Did you ever see a turkey with feathers so bright?

A Cornucopia Chorus (sing to: Clementine)
(There’s a pumpkin), (there’s a pumpkin)
In the cornucopia!
(There’s a pumpkin), (there’s a pumpkin)
In the cornucopia!
(there’s an apple)
(there is corn)
(there’s a squash)
(there are grapes)

Thanksgiving Day (sing to: Sing a Song of Sixpence)
Come and join the party
On Thanksgiving Day.
We will eat some turkey;
Some of us will play.
We’re feeling oh so stuffed,
But before we say goodbye,
Let’s gather round the table
And have some pumpkin pie!

A Turkey’s Dinner
“Gobble, gobble!” said the turkey
As he rubbed his fluffy tummy.
My Thanksgiving dinner
Is going to taste yummy.

So he got out his fork,
And he got out his plate.
Now, can you tell me
What that little turkey ate?

Round the Turkey (sing to: Are You Sleeping)
Round the turkey, round the turkey,
Here we go! Here we go!
(Child’s name), can you find
A feather of this kind?
Please find (green); please find (green).

The Turkey Dance
Oh, you turkey to the left (two steps to the left)
And you turkey to the right (two steps to the right)
Then you heel and toe (heel and toe)
And you scratch with all your might. (scratch foot)
Now you flap your turkey wings (flap, flap, flap)
While you head goes bobble, booble (wobble head)
Turn around and then you say (turn around)
GOBBLE, GOBBLE, GOBBLE!!

Turkey Countdown
Ten fat turkeys standing in a row.
They spread their wings and tails just so.
They look to the left;
Then they look to the right.
When they strut their stuff, they’re quite a sight!
But you won’t see them on Thanksgiving Day,
‘Cause one by one they’l run away!
(ten, nine, eight…)

The Turkey-Pokey
You put your (turkey toes) in.
You put your (turkey toes) out.
You put your (turkey toes) in,
And you shake ‘em all about!
You do the Turkey-Pokey, and you turn youself around.
That’s what it’s all about! Gobble, Gobble!
(right wing)
(left wing)
(tail feathers)
(wattle)

I’m a Little Turkey (sing to: I’m a Little Teapot)
I’m a little turkey,
Fluffy and brown.
My wing flip-flop,
When I turn around.
I have a lot of feathers,
On my back.
And a big orange beak,
That goes “click clack”!

Turkey Says
Flap your wings
Scratch the ground
Run away from the farmer
Peck some corn
Strut and say “gobble, gobble”

Time to Eat! (sung to: "Are You Sleeping")
It's Thanksgiving; it's Thanksgiving.
Time to eat, times to eat!
I like ______; I like ______.
What a treat, what a treat!
(mashed potatoes, tasty turkey, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie, green beans, apple pie, lots of stuffing)
