Opposites Songs
Opposites Song
We can do opposites, opposites, opposites.
We can do opposites, follow me!
Top and bottom (point to head, point to foot)
Front and back (touch front and back)
Happy and sad (make a happy face, make a sad face)
Left and right (extend left arm, extend right arm)
Up and down (point up, point down)
LOUD and soft (shout and whisper)
Open and shut (open hands, close hands)
Stand and sit (stand up, sit down)
And put them in your lap! (put hands in lap)
The Opposites Cheer!
Hey, everybody,
Come over here!
It's time to do
The Opposites Cheer!
I'll say hot! You say cold!
Hot! Cold! Hot! Cold!
Thanks, everybody,
For joining me here.
to help me with,
the Opposites Cheer!
2 Little Blackbirds
2 little blackbirds sitting on a hill.
One named Jack, one named Jill.
Fly away Jack, fly away Jill.
Come back Jack, come back Jill.
2 little blackbirds sitting on a cloud.
One named soft, one named LOUD!
Fly away soft, fly away LOUD.
Come back soft, come back LOUD!
(Dad-happy and sad, Gate-early, late)
Fun with Hands
Roll, roll, roll your hands
As slow as slow can be.
Roll, roll, roll your hands
Do it now with me!
Roll, roll, roll your hands
As fast as fast can be.
Roll, roll, roll your hands
Do it now with me!
(clap, jump, stomp)

Spring Art Projects
Fill a jar 3/4 of the way. Let the water sit for awhile. Drop a single drop of food coloring in the jar and watch as it makes its way to the bottom of the jar. Now try adding two colors at once and see what happens.

Halloween Art Projects
Spider Webs
Cut squares of white posterboard and make slits around the edges. Tape a piece of black yarn to the back of each square and pull it through one of the slits. Then have the children cross the yarn back and forth over the fronts of their squares, attaching it through the slits. Trim the ends of the yarn and tape them to the backs of the squares.
Egg Cup Spiders
Give each child a cardboard egg carton cup and four 4 inch pipe cleaner pieces. Help the children poke their pipe cleaners through thier egg cups to make spider legs. Have them bend the legs slightly downward. Let the children paint their spiders black and glue on googly eyes.
